Oxford Textbook of Psychiatry is a handbook to treat psychiatric patients. There is a difference between Psychology and Psychiatry. The latter deals with medical treatment unlike the one. This book was first published in 1983. Its sixth edition appeared in 2012. The shorter Oxford Textbook of Psychiatry provides authentic information on Psychiatry. Predominantly the topics are related to psychological or psychiatric disorders. 24 chapters have been included in 6th edition of the book.
There is an introduction of psychiatric disorders in initial chapters. Introduction contains the signs and symptoms and then the classification of disorders.
